	This is the thirty-fourth installment in our Red Sonja themed cover galleries, continuing from the first gallery. Below, we present ten selected covers from various comic books, featuring Red Sonja as envisioned by artist Fabiano Neves.

	2 title: Red Sonja: She-Devil with a Sword (2005) publisher: Dynamite cover artist: Fabiano Neves writer: Brian Reed artist: Walter Geovani issue: #39 of 80 release date: November, 2008 cover: A cover commentary: The most distinguishing characteristic of Fabiano Neves' portrayals of Red Sonja is the fact that she is emaciated. One supposes that the life of a mercenary is filled with uncertainty. To rely on a bag of coin from a warlord for one's meals as one moves from battle to battle is certainly not conducive to what we call in present times food security. Still, the extent to which Neves has taken this trait is not equaled by any other artist.

Rather, it is overwhelmed by the sword in her hand and the ferocity of her mien.



	4 title: Red Sonja: She-Devil with a Sword (2005) publisher: Dynamite cover artist: Fabiano Neves writer: Eric Trautmann artist: Noah Salonga issue: #57 of 80 release date: September, 2011 cover: A cover commentary: However, when Fabiano Neves depicts Red Sonja in a state of repose, the eye is immediately drawn to her ribcage. Curiously, this portrayal apparently proved to be an appealing perspective, at least for a time, as it is featured repeatedly in A covers to several issues.

However, we chose to limit that gallery to ten covers and this one just barely didn't make the cut. Happily, we have found a place for it here.

We chose not to include this cover in the Viewed from Behind gallery, as we had already included two other examples by Neves.



	9 title: Red Sonja / Conan (2015) publisher: Dynamite / Dark Horse cover artist: Fabiano Neves writer: Victor Gischler artist: Roberto Castro issue: #1 of 4 release date: August, 2015 cover: Comics to Astonish retailer's exclusive variant commentary: Fabiano Neves created two different retailer's exclusive variant covers for the debut issue of the Red Sonja / Conan crossover. Both are pretty excellent. We picked this one for Comics to Astonish, though there would have been no fault in selecting the exclusive from Excalibur Comics instead.



	10 title: Swords of Sorrow (2015) publisher: Dynamite cover artist: Fabiano Neves writer: Gail Simone artist: Sergio Fernandez Davila issue: #1 of 6 cover: Noble House retailer exclusive variant release date: May, 2015 commentary: In this retailer exclusive to the first issue of the Swords of Sorrow series, Neves presents his take on not only Red Sonja, but Vampirella, Dejah Thoris and Jungle Girl as well. One can say only that he was an artist with a singular vision of the female anatomy.
