A Bêlit Cover Gallery III: Age of Conan: Bêlit



	This is the third installment in our Bêlit themed cover galleries. Below, we present selected covers, which depict Bêlit, from the Age of Conan: Bêlit series, published by Marvel in March through July of 2019.

Howard characters, some of whom also appeared as part of the Conan saga. This five issue series featuring Bêlit was the first. There was clearly a conscious attempt to create a series that portrayed Bêlit in a light that would be acceptable to female readers. The writer, interior artist and regular cover artist were all women.

The next book in the Age of Conan series focused on Valeria. It did not apparently do as well. It abandoned retailer incentive covers after only two of the five issues. Worse yet, when the COVID-19 pandemic put a halt on comic book distribution for a few months, Marvel chose to abandon "Dark Agnes" after only two of five advertised issues. (One can't help but think that if Dark Horse had retained the R.E. Howard license, they would have handled the license with greater reverence and treated their readership with a little more respect.)
