On the Ice Dwarf
Winter, eldest and most privileged of the seasons, insists that her acquisition of a Dwarf was contemporaneous with that of Spring, though there are no records that indicate such was the case. To insinuate, however, that Winter briefly abandoned her post in Faerie and traveled to the distant forbidden lands of the frost giants on the exclusive errand of acquiring an ice dwarf simply because Spring had recently adopted a dwarf of her own is not a suggestion to which Winter will gracefully acquiesce. In fact, there are no similarities between this ice dwarf and the mountain dwarf in Spring. The friendship that exists between Spring and her dwarf certainly is not to be found between the ice dwarf and Winter, who stand together among the pines in the snowy silence of the forest and fix each other with inscrutable expressions.
