The staff of the Poison Pie Publishing House continue their art project in which they render scenes from various books in shrinky dink form. One member of the staff is a lifelong fan of works from the popular science fiction and fantasy genres. He previously created a gallery of eight mobiles featuring images derived from the works of four masters of the forms: Lovecraft, Tolkien, Howard & Lucas. He found such pleasant relaxation in this exercise that he was induced to create a second set of interpretations based on other material and images.

We first translated into shrinky dink form creatures and women illustrated taken from bestiaries for Dungeons & Dragons and other fantasy role-playing games. These games are the living legacy of Tolkien in contemporary America.

|
Second, we present two mobiles of a character from the Star Wars universe of George Lucas. Chelli Lona Aphra, more commonly known as Doctor Aphra, was a human female archaeologist active during the reign of Emperor Palpatine. Her character contains elements of lawlessness in the mold of Han Solo, himself a smuggler, and Indiana Jones, as she seeks to sell her archeological finds of dubious provenance to the highest bidder. Her moral compass is governed alternately by opportunistic impulses and regret.

Third, we present creatures from the works of H.P. Lovecraft. The first mobile includes illustrations taken from manga adaptations of Lovecraft works as rendered by Gou Tanabe. The second collects four beasts that appeared in the novella, The Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath, with illustrations from bestiaries included in The Survey of One Hundred Bestiaries.

Fourth, we present characters from the works of R.E. Howard. The first mobile includes illustrations from comic books featuring Red Sonja, the "fiercest fighting female in fantasy". The second work features other notable female companions of Conan.
