• commentary: While Red Sonja's weapon of preference is a sword, at need she wields any readily available blade. Based on a survey of cover images, it appears that her secondary choice of weapon is an axe of one kind or another. Distributed though-out the previous eighty-two galleries on this site are numerous examples of Red Sonja with an axe in hand, far too many to enumerate here. Nor do we claim that the twenty covers in this gallery on the subject of the axe represent a quintessential collection of axe-themed covers. On the contrary, we filled this gallery with axe-wielding Red Sonja covers, which had not been included in any previous galleries on the site.
