• commentary: In 2014, issues 7 through 13 of Gail Simone's version of Red Sonja were published. Stephanie Buscema drew a cover for all eighteen issues. It is not perfectly clear in this cover by Buscema, whether Red Sonja is bound by vines and left to the devices of the local spiders or rather she has been fixed to the tree by strands of spider silk. In either case, she has but to wriggle one hand free to grasp the dagger between her teeth and cut her bonds.
