• commentary: It is well known that comic book artists take artistic license with the female anatomy. Typically, the breasts are enlarged or the waist to hip ratio is exaggerated. Uniquely, Fabiano Neves focused his artistic freedom on Red Sonja's ribcage. He has routinely presented Red Sonja in an emaciated state with her skin clinging tightly to her ribcage. In this cover, the ribcage takes on an appearance that seems at odds with human anatomy.

• commentary: Lucio Parrillo drew all four covers for Atlantis Rises. Issue #2 has been previousy featured in these galleries. As previously noted, Parrillo freely modifies the extent and, in this case, the material of the bottom half of Red Sonja's armor in order to tip the balance between her ferocity and sensuality.
