In the aftermath of that experience, she was approached by a goddess, Scáthach, who granted her extraordinary strength, endurance and agility in exchange for a vow that Sonja would never sleep with another man unless he first defeated her in combat. After this experience with the goddess, Sonja took on the role of an agent of divine will, slaying those who sought to take advantage of the weak.
