A Red Sonja Cover Gallery L: Divine Agent



	This is the fiftieth installment in our Red Sonja themed cover galleries, continuing from the first gallery. Below, we present ten selected covers from various comic books, featuring Red Sonja in the role of divine agent.

She was ravished and left for dead. In the aftermath of that experience, she was approached by a goddess, Scáthach, who granted her extraordinary strength, endurance and agility in exchange for a vow that Sonja would never sleep with another man unless he first defeated her in combat. After this experience with the goddess, Sonja took on the role of an agent of divine will, slaying those who sought to take advantage of the weak.

This motif appears on multiple covers, signaling that Red Sonja is executing the will of her goddess. Some of these covers also include Kulan Gath, who knew Scáthach, when both of them were mortal and who later in their respective godhoods became her nemesis. See for example this cover.

In the story arc that spans the one-shot, Blue, and the 4-issue series, Unchained, Red Sonja slays an innocent whose only fault was his inability to control his youthful passion for Red Sonja.
