  • commentary: Red Sonja and Vampirella meet Betty and Veronica is a 12-issue series that ran from May 8, 2019 - July 29, 2020. In this gallery we select ten covers drawn by ten different artists. In addition to the covers on this page, other galleries of Red Sonja covers have featured several contributions from the Red Sonja and Vampirella meet Betty and Veronica series, including
Fay Dalton drew the A covers to every issue of this series except issue #7, for which she did not have any cover at all. For those collectors who prefer symmetry in the universe, this omission remains a sore point.

  • commentary: Laura Braga drew the C variants for all issues except for issues #1 (E variant) and #7 (A cover). Her covers portray the quartet of heroines in the most traditional comic book manner of the five regular cover artists for this series. She also gives them the most sex appeal, although that is not especially apparent in this example in which they appear in mugshots.

9

  • title: Red Sonja and Vampirella meet Betty and Veronica (2019)
  • publisher: Dynamite
  • cover artist: Ergun Gündüz
  • writer: Amy Chu
  • artist: Maria Sanapo
  • issue: #1 of 12
  • release date: May, 2019
  • cover: Diamond Summit retailer exclusive variant
  • commentary: This exclusive variant by Ergun Gündüz appeared in both a virgin variant (shown here) and a version with trade dress. This example is unusual because the top third of the cover is blank. Usually virgin variants reveal more of the cover illustration by removing the title graphics.

We have featured covers by Ergun Gündüz in galleries with themes including
    • Red Sonja & Vampirella Meet Betty & Veronica: #9
    • Vampirella & Red Sonja: #4

10

  • title: Red Sonja and Vampirella meet Betty and Veronica (2019)

  • writer: Amy Chu
  • artist: Maria Sanapo
  • issue: #1 of 12

  • cover: Dynamite remarked retailer exclusive variant
  • commentary: Dynamite released five different remarked variants by Ken Haeser. Four of them feature each of the individual heroines, such as the Red Sonja cover shown here. The fifth included all four stars together. Typically, a remarked comic has some additional illustration on top of the original cover by the artist. It is not clear if the remark here is intended to be part of the illustration or the artist's signature.
