On Faerie Ecology
The ecology of Faerie is no less variegated and abundant than that of Earth, perhaps more so, since it is not bound by those conventions that govern living relationships--symbiotic, parasitic or predatory--on Earth. Moreover, Earth is only one of the many lands that share a border with Faerie. Having imported biological customs and constraints from multiple worlds, Faerie displays a diversity of locales and specimens therein that are not to be equaled by those of any single land. These other lands include The Dreamlands, The Realm Beyond Time and Space, Pocket Universes, Hyperdimensions, Hyperdementia and, of course, Hell. To travel in Faerie, therefore, is to encounter fragments of each of these lands assembled together in a chaotic mosaic that defies conventional attempts to categorize it. If the reader finds the organization of this book to be overly capricious, understand then that such a result was not strictly arrived at by the choice of the authors.
