New Release:    A new compact disc featuring Keiji Haino (vocals) and Derek Bailey (guitar) will be released on Incus Records (Incus CD 40) with a planned release date of December 1, 2000.    The disc is titled "Songs".    This disc will certainly be different than the first Haino/Bailey due cd (on Tokuma) because that cd featured Haino exclusively on guitar and this new cd on Incus features Haino exclusively on voice.

Appears on the NHK TV programme "Hiru no prezento", but the station is overwhelmed by complaints from viewers and the director is demoted. Participates in the soundtrack to the film "Himiko" (director: Shinoda Masahiro; soundtrack: Takemitsu Toru)." Forthcoming re-release:   On the Atavistic website, there is an announcement that they are reissuing HAPMONIYM Volumes 1 through 5 by Magical Power Mako. These five cds were originally released in limited editions by Naohiro Ukawa's label, MoM 'n' DaD in 1995. Atavistic has a projected release date for this reissue of Summer 2000 and have assigned a catalog number ALP109-113BX to what they are calling "Hapmoniym 5CD Reissue". It appears that this will be a boxed set with the discs not available individually. Haino appears on volume one. See the discography section of this site under "Guest Appearances". Although Haino is recognizable (on voice) for only one song (about six minutes) of the single track cd, all of the music on the cd is great. There is a nice Magical Power Mako website in English and Japanese located here.

Forthcoming video release:   There are plans to release a video/DVD(?) of one of the Haino/Pauvros performances from May 1999 in France. The audio of one of the concerts was documented on Shambala records on the cd titled "Y" (SHAMB 99003, January, 2000).

In the film they go to a gig that he played at Bateau-Forre - which is an old lightship permanently moored in the Seine and used as a gig venue. More info to be posted as it becomes available.

Live Dates:    The unconfirmed rumor is that Haino is returning to Germany in September to play more shows as a trio with Peter Brotzmann and Shoji Hano. More info on this will be posted on the site as details emerge. Also, plans are in the works for three Haino shows in Dublin. Note: the Dublin shows have now been postponed indefinitely (07/18/00).
